"Our goal is to teach children to be active and to love activity. We want to develop skills, strength, and agility. We want to involve children in lead-up games that flow into sports so they want to be active for their lifetime." Diane Taylor
My Philosophy
The goal of a good physical education program is that children have fun, fun, fun!
If children have fun being active, they will want to be active. The program should be structured so that skills lead to higher skills that involve muscular strength, coordination, and skill development.
Classes of children that play together also develop emotional stability, self-governing attributes, and sportsmanship.
How Should P.E. be Taught?
Have a Schedule.
Find a place to have a P.E. class.
Physical Education class is instructional time.
Each class should have rules for behavior.
Why Teach P.E. at Home?
Physical Education plays a vital role in the development, growth, and learning process of children.
Physical Education provides experiences that allow the child to mature in working alone, with a partner, as a group member, and with a teacher.
Physical Education is an important part of the educational process.
What Should be Taught?
Activity should be fun and challenging so that children leave with an attitude that they had a good time and want to be active again.
Physical Education should offer a wide range of skill development in the areas of locomotor, nonlocomotor and manipulative skills.
Physical education should be structured so that students learn the disciplines of work, cooperation, obedience, winning, losing, and participation.
